Personal growth.  It's something that can be applied to every area of life, from academics, to general behavior, to hobbies.  It's challenging, something we all want to do, but we all seem to fall short of where we want to be each time.  This gets frustrating and often we want to give up.  The effort seems like too much, our mistakes are piling up into what feels like a disaster, and everything feels like it's falling apart.  Personal growth is hard.

But life is what you make of it, friends.  If you take every little mistake and treat it as a defeat, you won't get anywhere.  If every challenge carries with it a negative connotation, you won't face them with enough vigor to surmount the difficulty.  If even the slightest bit of effort seems to be too frustrating, the love for what you're doing may drain and become a chore.  Find that love again.

Try something new in what you're striving to improve!  Give yourself a challenge you want to succeed at and view it as a game, perhaps, one you can't lose.  Strive to do better, rejoice in the challenge.  Make a mistake?  Look at it, analyze it, see what went wrong.  Use that knowledge to know what NOT to do next time around.  Be willing to put in that effort, and use every little scrap of it to continue to learn how to better yourself.  And who knows?  After all of that you may find yourself in a much better place than you started off in.
