Furry Quote #10 - Defining Your Own Success

This quote first appeared in Furry Weekly Issue #98

"Success means doing the best we can with what we have.  Success is the doing, not the getting; in the trying, not the triumph.  Success is a personal standard, reaching for the highest that is in us, becoming all that we can be."

- Zig Ziglar

~~~
So often we're told that success is based off how much money we have or our achievements.  Not a billionaire but still have a good job and pull in enough money to get by?  You're successful, I guess, but not as successful as others.  Just in middle school or high school with okay grades and no job, but you like do make art?  Nah, no success here.  Too often we let others' standards define success for us, and this often alters our perception on our lives and where we stand in relation to everything.
If we decide to ignore the standards for success put in place by everyone else, we may be pleased to find that our perspective changes.  Define your success by your own terms.  Get that job you were aiming for?  Great, you succeeded!  Get that pose or technique you've been struggling with down?  You've succeeded, congratulations!
Define success for yourself.  If you've done what you wanted, achieved a goal, or are proud of something you've done, you've succeeded.  Stop letting the stereotypes define success for you and carve out your own merits of success.  Be proud of what you achieve.
That's it for this week!  See you lovely people soon!  Have a great week, and go succeed!
Much love,
Fluffle
